We Can Stand Strong

We can always stand strong in any situation. God did not call us to just survive or cope. In Christ, we are overcomers and we always triumph. Toward the end of his life, the Apostle Paul declared “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2 Tim. 4:7). He faced opposition, conflicts, and difficulties along the way. He had opportunities to quit but he didn’t cave in or consider a new profession. He knew who he was in Christ. He wasn’t working for victory but he operated from a place of victory. He finished what he was called to do. Paul was not shaken nor was he afraid. He stood in the midst of difficult situations victoriously.

We can also stand strong in every circumstance of life. Standing strong is possible because of God’s Word. All scripture is “God breathed” and His Word is what makes our life different. When problems come, we must face them with the Word of God. We can also stand strong because of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. He knows things we do not know, but as He reveals God’s Word to us, He gives us a tremendous advantage as we take our stand.

We are also strong when we know who we are in Christ. When we are born again, we move out of the devil’s territory and we are relocated in a new place – in Christ. In this place is victory, blessing, prosperity, healing, and many other benefits. There are things that are ours simply because of our union with Him. It is important that we acknowledge every good thing that we have in Christ (Philemon 6). It is a revelation that will affect our thinking, our believing, our actions, and our speech. We must take advantage of what belongs to us so that we can stand strong and fulfill God’s will for our lives.
