Prayer That Brings Results

Great things happen when you know how to pray. The Word of God gives us four basic instructions to follow to ensure that our prayers will be effective and successful.

  1. Your prayer must be based on the Word. When you pray in line with the Word, you have automatically prayed in line with God’s will. This is powerful because when you pray according to the Word, 1 John 5:14-15 says that God hears you and answers your desired request.

  2. You must see yourself as succeeding – not failing. James 5:16 says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” That means that you make a difference. Losing ground is not an option. Moving forward in God is everything.

  3. Refuse to allow doubt and fear to affect you. You must guard against every negative thought and doubt that comes into your mind. Doubt is of the devil. James 4:7 says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Never permit a mental picture of failure to remain in your mind. Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin said, “We must stay away from all places and things that do not support our confession that God has answered our prayer.”

  4. You must pray .Mark 11:24 says,“…What things so ever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them.” Smith Wigglesworth said, “Some people are ready to give up if their prayers are not answered immediately. But this proves that they never believed God in the first place.” Faith believes that prayer is heard and the promise is granted.

Take the promise and claim it before God in prayer with unwavering expectation. Then confidently expect its fulfillment. The prayer of faith depends completely on God’s Word.
