The Forgotten Ingredient

There is always a fight where our faith is concerned. As believers, we can be bold, confident, and fearless because it is a fight that we can win. Jesus is a great example of someone being bold in dealing with the devil. During the forty days that Jesus was in the wilderness, Satan tempted Him, and with every temptation, Jesus responded with the words “it is written.” Jesus couldn’t keep the devil from talking to Him, but He did not let the devil have the last word. The scripture says in Proverbs 28:1, “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous is as bold as a lion.” Jesse Duplantis said, “Boldness is the forgotten indgredient because many people just rule it out completely.” Being bold is not just raising our voice. It is a strength that comes out of our voice that reflects who we are in Christ. There is a fight going on and we must lift our voice with strength and be bold about it.

We need to get bold when confessing the Word. We are admonished to hold fast to our confession of faith. We cannot afford to lose our voice. It’s not the time to get intimidated by the enemy and go silent. It’s not the time to get spiritual laryngitis. According to Kenneth E. Hagin, the door to the supernatural swings open on two hinges – believing and speaking.

We need to get bold in prayer. The believer has covenant rights, but many times, people come to God with a feeling of insecurity and inferiority. They do not know if God hears them or not. However, the scripture admonishes us in Hebrews 4:16, “Let us come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” We need to get bold and lift up our voice with strength both when we confess the Word and when we pray.
