Having A Supernatural Advantage
Jesus notified His disciples of a major change that was coming to their lives. Jesus told His disciples, “And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you forever” (John 14:16). Jesus was referring to the Holy Spirit and the important role He would have in their lives.
The Apostle Paul also spoke about the Holy Spirit and admonished believers to be “filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). Jesus commanded His disciples in Luke 24:49 to “Tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” When you are filled with the Holy Ghost, you become a different person; you become filled with Heaven’s power. We should never ignore the Holy Ghost or act like He is not there. There are many supernatural advantages that occur when we are filled with the Holy Spirit.
Instead of living our lives being people conscious, sin conscious, devil conscious, or problem conscious, we become God conscious. The things of God and His Word will take first place in our hearts.
Jesus will get big and the devil will get real small. Jesus “spoiled principalities and powers and made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:15). Jesus put to an end the authority of the evil one over our lives.
The Holy Spirit will make us strong. Paul spoke about being “strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:16). You’ve got to be strong enough to resist the devil and lay hold of something bigger that you.
The Holy Spirit will expand our spirit. The prophet Isaiah said, “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations; spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes” (Isaiah 54:2).
The Holy Spirit wants to be fully involved in our lives. When He is, wonderful things happen because we have a supernatural advantage.
