When You Need Direction For Your Life

Following the Lord is a step by step process of learning to listen, following His guidance, and experiencing His promotion. As a child of God, you are to be led by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14). You must learn to listen to your spirit so that you can experience God’s guidance. When you need direction for your life, the first thing you must do is “double up” on the Word. When the Word of God is working on the inside of you, something has to happen on the outside. The Word in your heart makes the difference in your life. You don’t need more information. You need revelation. The Word must be planted in your heart.

When you need direction for your life, being filled with the Spirit of God is essential (Ephesians 5:18). The Holy Spirit knows things that we don’t know. He knows how to accomplish God’s plan for your life and has the ability to do so. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you cannot fail. When you need direction for your life, always agree with God (Amos 3:3). Our thoughts must agree with God’s Word in order to walk with Him and fulfill His plan. We can control what we think by knowing His thoughts and agreeing with Him. We can be intentional in our thinking based on the Word of God.

When you need direction for your life, you must be led by integrity. Integrity is what you do when you don’t think anybody is watching. However, someone is watching! Many times, you will be pressured to deal with the situations of your life in your own strength and ability. The Holy Spirit will always take the side of integrity because He will never lead you to do something unscriptural.

When you need direction for your life, you must be a person who loves to praise and worship God on a regular basis (Philippians 3:3). Things happen when we praise the Lord. Praise is proper behavior for the child of God.

When you need direction for your life, there is always something you can do.

1) Double up on the Word.

2) Pray in tongues.

3) Agree with God.

4) Be led by integrity.

5) Live a life of praise and worship.

The scripture says, “My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). Finding God’s direction for your life should be usual and natural for you.
