Healing Belongs To You

Healing Belongs To You!

The tradition of men will keep us from experiencing what Jesus Christ has provided for us through the great plan of redemption. The scripture declares in Isaiah 53:4-5, “Surely he hath borne our griefs (sickness, diseases) and carried our sorrows (pains): yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah says that we have as much right to be healed as we do to be saved.Tradition has kept us from walking in the light of our redemption where healing is concerned.

Tradition says, “Healing has passed away,” or “God is trying to teach you something,” or “God doesn’t put sickness on you, but He allows Satan to.” Probably the most popular tradition that people declare is that God gets glory from Christians being sick. We all have heard these explanations when sickness occurs in the life of a believer, but it is our legal right and our redemptive right to walk in divine health.

Every born again child of God has the right to receive healing, but many times, Christians fail to receive because they are not diligent concerning the Word. They are watching their symptoms, holding unforgiveness, or failing to act on their faith. Just hearing the Word only will not make the difference but being a doer of the Word will. We must always shift our attention back to the Word of God. The Word is like God speaking to us. First Peter 2:24 says that we “were” healed. That means that we are healed. We can walk free of sickness and disease because Jesus “bore” them. In other words, He lifted them off of us and carried them away. Christians everywhere believe that Jesus bore their sins but not many believe that Jesus bore their sicknesses. But scripture says that He did and that means healing and divine health belong to us.
