Partakers of the Divine Nature

The Apostle Paul referred to Christians as being “partakers of the divine nature.” That is a powerful statement and reveals the reality of what it means to be in union with Christ. So many things happen and become possible the moment we become partakers of the divine nature.

First of all, God becomes our Father and instantly, we become God’s children with full access into His presence. As His children, we receive blessing after blessing and favor after favor. As partakers of the divine nature, we can also live Spirit-led lives. We don’t ever have to live simply by the voice of reason or the dictates of our feelings. Instead, we can depend on the leadership of the Holy Spirit. He guides us into all truth and He shows us things to come. It is liberating to know that we don’t have to live simply by the practice of trial and error. We have an unction from the Holy One and we know all things.

We are also designed to live by faith because we are partakers of the divine nature. God is a faith God and as new creations, we are to live by faith. Faith is a product of our spirit and it is developed by meditation in the Word of God. Every time you and I act on the Word, our faith becomes stronger. Faith must be continually exercised in order to develop it. We can walk by faith all the days of our lives. Our re-created spirit has come into vital union with deity. We are to live out of our spirit. E.W. Kenyon said, “If we could listen to our re-created spirit and stay in intimate fellowship with the Father, there is no limit where we could go in spiritual things.”
