It's A Priority

Making prayer a priority is important. God wants us to have a powerful prayer life where we can communicate and fellowship with the Father every day. While Jesus was here on earth, He loved spending time in prayer. It was definitely a priority in His life. There were times when He would pray all night. There were other times when He prayed with a group and other times when He prayed alone. He would also get up early to spend time with His Father before He got busy with other things. Jesus looked forward to these times in prayer.

In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus told His disciples to “watch and pray.” They didn’t follow His instructions because they fell asleep. His response was, “could you not watch for an hour?” Jesus mentioned a specific amount of time. Just as Jesus wanted His disciples to pray that night, He wants us to spend time with Him in prayer. God wants our prayer time to be consistent, day after day. Seeking after God every once in a while won’t accomplish the things that you want to see happen in your life. Gloria Copeland said, “There is a revelation of God that comes from consistency that the inconsistent person will never see.” You must pray today because you have chosen to be constant and consistent. Then tomorrow, do it again! The results will be obvious to everyone. You will live the abundant life that overflows with the goodness of God.
