How To Be Bold As A Lion

Jesus gave us dominion and all authority, but we have to “operate” in it. Do you approach life with the boldness of a lion? The scripture says, “The righteous are as bold as a lion” (Prov. 28:1).

God used this animal to describe the demeanor He expects from His children. God wants us to live our lives boldly. There are three major ways that we can do this.

  1. We should be bold when we approach God. We are admonished to “come to His throne boldly.” When you pray, how do you show up? Are you expecting to receive something or just hoping? How we come to the throne of God determines whether we take possession of what we need or walk away with nothing.

  2. We should be bold by acting on the Word of God. For our faith to work, we must act on the Word boldly! We are doers of the Word and not hearers only. Bold faith is what is required. Boldness will cause you to do things you wouldn’t normally do. That’s what the Bible says to do whether we feel like it or not.

  3. We should be bold when resisting the devil. The Word tells us in James 4:7 to “resist the devil and he will flee from you.” The devil doesn’t like to come up against someone who is bold. You might be the quietest person ever, but when the devil comes around, you have to be bold when standing against him. We have to rebuke him and put him in his place.

We don’t have to live in fear or timidity ever again. Getting the Word in our heart changes everything. When we become one with the Word, we become bold as a lion. We will never again respond to adversity as a victim. Boldness is knowing what Christ has done for us through His death, burial, and resurrection.
