Staying Connected To Him

Regardless of your present circumstances, God has a wonderful plan for your life. It’s time to move forward and not look back. It’s time to forget the hurts and failures of the past. It’s time to trust God and walk in the blessings of the Lord. Today, there may be obstacles that stand in your way, but there are a few truths that you must recognize to ensure that you stay connected with the plan and purpose of God for your life.

One of the first truths we must recognize is the goodness of God. God is totally good because it is His nature – it is who He is. The scripture declares, “O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; for his mercy endureth forever” (Psalm 107:1). Someone said, “Just like the sun radiates heat, God radiates goodness.” Too many times, we focus on our failures and weaknesses instead of remembering the good things that God has accomplished in our lives. We can praise God every day for His goodness. Our attitude should be, “Lord, I can’t wait to see what you are going to do today.” Expect His goodness to come your way.

Another truth to keep us connected to His plan is to make God our number one priority by spending time in the Word and in prayer. The scripture says, “He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 4:6). The people that God rewards are those who seek Him with their whole heart. Being half-hearted just doesn’t work. When we seek God on a daily basis with all of our heart, good things happen. When we put God first in our life, the blessings of God will chase us down.

The third truth we must consider is letting go of negative things in our life. It hurts us if we are constantly looking at the unfairness of life. Harboring unforgiveness toward someone will poison our lives and will keep us from experiencing God’s best. God is always fair and wants us to experience the things that He has prepared for us. The Apostle Paul declared, “This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before” (Philippians3:13). Always remember that your past is not nearly as important as what’s in your future. Don’t get stuck in your past because where you are going is much more important than where you’ve been.

Recognizing these things will keep us connected to Him and His wonderful plan for our lives.
