Reigning In Life
God created man to be a king. The very moment we receive Jesus as Savior, we become royalty. The Bible says that Jesus is the King of kings. Paul wrote to believers in Romans 5:17 that they were to “reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” The Laubach Translation says, “They shall live and rule like kings.” We are to live like every need is met and rule like the enemy is under our feet. Many people believe they are to reign as a king when they get to Heaven but we are to reign as kings in this life through Jesus Christ.
We are to live as kings in the midst of tribulations, all kinds of problems and in every kind of situation. God has given us some powerful and effective weapons to overcome every battle that we face. The first weapon that believers have is the Word of God on our lips. Christianity is called “the great confession.” The speaking part of faith is so important. Your “mountain” (or your problem) needs to hear your voice. Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for He is faithful that promised.” The second weapon is the power of praise that comes from our lips. The scripture says in Hebrews 13:15, “Let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.” He has ordered strength to come out of your mouth. That happens when you praise the Lord. (Pslam 8:2 & Matt. 21:16). The third weapon is the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus is alive and powerful. We overcome “by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony” (Rev. 12:11). The Name of Jesus is the fourth weapon we have as believers. Jesus has given us His Name. The scripture says in John 14:13, “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” A king must have authority in order to reign. As we reign in this life, our needs are met, our steps are ordered, and our dreams are filled.
