Keys To Great Thinking

The way we think affects the quality of our lives. The Bible has much to say about our thoughts, our mindset, and the importance of mind renewal. The scripture says in Romans 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. Renewing your mind is not something that can be done quickly. It is like renovating an old house. You will have to invest time and effort if you want to transform the way you think.

Mind renewal extends to the way you think about yourself, your health, your finances, your family, and your future. The way we renew our minds is by meditating in God’s Word. To meditate means “to mutter, to speak out loud, and to roll over and over in your mind.” It is not something you do just one time but is something that you do over and over again. Meditation is actually very powerful and produces tremendous results. God’s thoughts become ours when we meditate on God’s Word. As we “muse, mutter, and speak out loud,” it changes our thinking, our believing, and our actions.

When a thought is introduced to our mind which does not agree with God’s Word, we can immediately deal with it. We treat it like it is an uninvited guest looking for a place to lodge. No matter how persistent that guest is, even if he is standing there with his luggage expecting to move in, you can refuse and boldly declare, “You are not welcome here.”

Thinking in line with the Word of God is a major key to victory. God has given us His Word so that we can think His thoughts and speak His language. His Words are full of life and power. His thoughts, revealed to us, will keep us from stumbling as we run our race. His thoughts are higher than ours. He wants us to receive His thoughts so that we think like Him.
