Pursue God's Plan

Pursue God’s Plan

by Sherry Jones

What does God want us to do with our lives? The reality is that God has a plan that is specifically designed just for you. Your job is to find out what God wants you to do. Fulfilling your own agenda is not what you are called to do. What you are called to do is to make a strong, consistent effort to find out what God wants you to do and then do it!

Many people in the Bible connected with God’s plan for their lives. At the end of his life, the Apostle Paul wrote to his spiritual son, Timothy, and said, “I have fought the good fight; I have finished my course; I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). He was saying, “I did it! I accomplished it! I took hold of the will of God and refused to let go!” At times, it wasn’t easy because he had to deal with some difficult situations and contradictory circumstances. However, he kept “pressing toward the mark” and refused to quit or give up. It takes effort to accomplish God’s will for your life, but doing what God has called you to do brings great satisfaction.

There are no shortcuts. Walking out God’s plan will not happen overnight but will take a lifetime. Every believer needs to get started and stop making excuses why they can’t do what God has called them to do. When one person does the will of God, he can affect millions of people. Knowing God’s will comes as we stay in the Word of God, as we listen to the Spirit of God and as we remain teachable. Position yourself to be the student, and greater revelation and understanding will come to you. God does not want you to draw back from His will. If you will stay with it and pursue God’s plan, it will bring great joy and satisfaction to your life.
